Water Letter

Dear Sebahive,

The other day I had to carry a gallon of water fir about half a mile in my social studies class. It was very hard for me, but then I heard about what you had to do every day, and I was amazed! I can't even begin to imagine having to carry five or six gallons of water for miles at a time every single day! It must be so hard for you, considering how hard a fraction of that was for me.

So how do you go about carrying water for so long? Is it just a matter of walking there, filling your jug, and walking back? Or is there something else you do to occupy yourself on the way back? Do you sing, make jokes, talk? And then, when you get home, what do you do with the water other than drink and cook with it? Do you use some of those five gallons to bathe? How often to you bathe with such little water? I wonder about all of these things, and I really wish I knew the answers. Maybe you could write back to me to tell me what happens?

Also, what are some of the little things you do to save the water you get? Do you make a cap? If so out of what? What happens back at home if you spill some water on the way? Are you punished? Or do you just not spill? If not how? Why do you need as much water as you can get, and why is it so precious?

All in all, I think that what you are doing is just so amazing, and I wish you didn't have to do it. However, you must, so keep going, and now, think about the fact that a whole school is thinking about what you have to do every day, and appreciating you for it.

Thanks,
Jamie
