The thing that I had planned for today didn't start for a couple of hours, so we killed some time playing more games. Today, I showed him how to play Sorry. It was really funny to tell Emmanuel that he didn't have to feel bad about winning and pushing me back, like the game implies.
Finally, it was time to see the Boxtales Theatre Company's new play called "Om." It was really cool, although a bit long. It was about the Ramayana, a Hindu story, and it had a lot of demons and magical creatures and gods. The masks that they used in the play were scary and funny. Some of the play was hilarious, some was scary, and some was sad. All in all it was really exciting.Emmanuel liked the play and he said that he really wanted to meet the cast. I told him that my dad worked at the theatre and he could probably introduce us.
We walked behind stage, and I asked my dad. He agreed, and we got to meet the cast of "Om." Emmanuel told them how much he liked the play and how cool it was. We thanked them and left.
While we were in Santa Barbara, we decided to go and see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. It was really funny, and Emmanuel was amazed at what was possible with cartoon drawings.
The whole way back to my house Emmanuel and I talked about how amazing animation was. Finally we got home and had dinner, meatloaf. Emmanuel was very courteous about it, although I'm not sure he like the meatloaf.
