That's what I had to do for the first 20 minutes of my day. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! Well, it was worth it, because today I went to Aqaba, Jordan's only resort! Of course, I had to drive there, being quite far away. Oh well, no bother. I had time to anticipate what was coming up today!

It definitely was worth it when I got to the hotel. It was so clean and neat and tidy and beautiful! I checked in at the front desk, and they told me that I was in room 228. 228! This place is a lot like California.
Right after unpacking I went outside to the beach. It was extraordinary! The sand was a perfect gold and the water was turquoise and so clear that I could see right down to the bottom. I noticed a smallish building by the pier that had the sign "Scuba Diving" (جهاز تنفس تحت الماء الغوص

for those of you who'd like to know) on it. I went there straight away.
At the front desk I asked how much it cost to go diving for an hour. The man said it was 50 JD for the diving, and if I wanted to rent gear, it would cost an extra 10. I paid him, and then set to work getting everything on. First the wetsuit, then the gear, then the goggles, and finally the tank. The tank was so heavy I couldn't imagine how it would be possible to get back to the surface. I guess it's just all that air. (That's the guy who came with me on this "expedition")
Anyway, the experience was one of the best of my life! Sadly, I couldn't get any pictures because I didn't have an underwater camera, but it was great. I saw fish that I didn't even know existed! I guess that what happens when you go diving...
I was super hungry when the diving was over. I found a nice seafood restaurant where I ate everything I could. This included: kingfish steak, prawns in tomato sauce, and baked whole shari. You can get the recipes I found for these here.
After that, I went back to my room feeling kind of sick. And now, here I am, sitting on my bed. It's almost night time, and the lights of this place are about to come on. So far, the night is pretty clear, so I think I'll get a good shot out of my windows... I have two windows. There are the lights, and here are the pictures:
