Saturday

Panting. Sweating. That's what you get for hiking in the desert for half an hour.

I found this out this morning after I woke up, ate breakfast, and drove out to Wadi Rum. For as far as I could see, it was all sand. Nothing but sand and a few rocks here an there. However, that didn't hold me back from going with my group on a trek.

We walked around for a while on flat land. In fact, it was all flat. That is, except for the giant stone "sculptures" that were around. They weren't climbable, or else we would have hiked up the formations to the top of each "mountain." They were really cool, just like the arches in Utah.

It was great when we came to one of these rocks because they had a lot of carvings on them. Almost like cave paintings, but they were carved out instead of painted (though some might have just been painted).

None of us was really a guide, I kind of just found them when I got out of my car, so we didn't really know what anything was. I guess there was sort of a leader of the group who knew some things, but they were more of a hiking group than a tourist group.

I got some great pictures though; here they are:

If there's one thing I've learned in Jordan, it's to bring extra water into the desert, I'M NOT A CAMEL!
