Tuesday

After everything yesterday I was pretty tired and so I didn't wake up until about 10 today. But no matter! Today I'm going to the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks! I heard about these in a pamphlet on the Czech Republic, and it said that they were one of the most beautiful natural features here. From what I heard about them, they seem a lot like the rock formations in Utah, which I've been to several times. If they are, I'm sure they really are amazing!

There were actually a few different sites to choose from, and I decided to go to the Teplice Rocks first. We had to follow a trail to get there, but through the trees I could see different rock formations that looked like they were about to topple over. I asked the guide why the
y didn't and he said that it was because they were actually one rock. He said that it looked like two because of the way the wind had eroded them.

Finally we got to a huge "stair"case that the guide led us up. I counted almost 300 steps before we got to the top. But it was definitely worth it. The view from the top was absolutely amazing! I could see so many rock formations spread out like a forest! They were right among the trees and came out of nowhere. I couldn't tell why they were just in the middle of everything like that. it was really cool though.

After that, we began the walk in Wolf Gorge. Wolf Gorge was a lot like the first walk; it had trees on each side, through which I could see glimses of rock. But this trail was more in a valley. It was shadowy everywhere, because the sun couldn't get through anywhere. It was really quite peaceful.

About halfway through the walk, we had to cross a rickety wooden bridge over a deep trench that had a river at the bottom. I didn't really like the river because from all the way up there I could smell its horrible smell. On the bridge I could see it, and it turned out to be brown and bubbly. I really didn't like it, and I didn't like the idea of falling into it, so I hurried across the bridge.

At the end of Wolf Gorge, we entered the
Adršpach Rocks. I could tell that this was the main attraction, because at once, all of the tourists took out they're cameras. For about a minute all I could hear were the clicks and beeps of the cameras. But when I went to take out mine, we started the walk.

It was really amazing, and I could see why so many people liked it. There were rocks all around, and everything was beautiful. I couldn't tell how the wind had made formations like this; it was just so cool! I'm at a loss for words to describe what I saw...

Finally we got back to the entrance of the park, and I noticed I was very hungry,
so I asked if there was food anywhere near. I was told that there was a cafe somewhere close by, so I started looking. I found one near the entrance, and I went inside to get a snack. I saw something on the menu that said Svičková. I had an English menu, and it stated that it was a type of meat with a sauce on it. But the really weird part is that I had whipped cream on it!

I really wanted to try it, so I ordered it. When it came, I couldn't believe the taste it had. I've never tasted anything like it! The sauce was a little
spicy, but just a tad. Along with the whipped cream though, it was a really different sensation. I liked it, but I'm not sure anyone else would.

Afterwards, I went back to the park to thank the guides. I really had seen nothing like it before. I asked if there was anything I could do for them, and they said that they were accepting donations to keep the park up and running. I later tried to find a website where anyone could donate, but I did not have a success. Oh well. Bye
Adršpach-Teplice rocks!
