Monday

After Prague, I was totally ready to go to Mariáské Lázně. I heard that it is a very beautiful spa town, but I didn't know if it still was in the winter. However, when I got there, everything was still beautiful! The whole town seemed to be made of a rainbow!

The first thing I wanted to do was go see Zpívající fontána, or Singing fountain. It's a fountain that makes cool shows and formations out of the water. I got there, and somehow, even though there was snow everywhere, the water was still flowing. I guess that because it's always moving, it doesn't have time to freeze, although it must have been -5° or something! Oh well it was still very amazing!

Next, I went to Křížový pramen, Cross spring in English. It is one of the most famous springs in Mariáské Lázně. It is housed in by a huge concrete building. It has some of the most mineralized water, and has a relaxing effect on people. Because of these traits, it is used as curative drinks and baths. Of course, I wasn't sick, so I didn't try it. I'm sure it would taste very pure though.

Third, I went to Rudolfův pramen. Rudolfův, as it kind of looks like means Rudolph's, and if you haven't noticed yet, pramen means spring; Rudolph's spring. This water is actually low in minerals, but high in calcium, so it is pumped to nearby collonades. Some of it is bottled, and I just had to have some, so I bought one. It was really good, if you can say that water is good, and it was freshly bottled and still cool. It felt really good as it ran down my throat.

And last, but not least, I went to a church. The church I went to was called the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua. However, it was only one of the many many churches that are in Mariáské Lázně. Sadly, I could hardly understand any of the surmon, because even though a lot of the Czech Republic speaks English, the church spoke Czech. I had to lean over to a man and ask him what everything meant. Gladly he spoke English pretty well, and was able to tell me most of what was going on.

It was about six when the surmon was over, and I decided to go eat. I found another little cafe and had wienerschnitzel, which is pronounced veen-er-shniht-sell. It was really good, and I knew that I was going to have more of that next time...
