Saturday

Today I had a very long ride. I went from Gisenyi all the way to Akagera. During the ride, I saw a lot of wild animals, roaming around and being wild. It was really cool, and I saw a lot more during the safari I went on in the late afternoon.

By the time I got there, it was already late afternoon, and time for my safari ride. I got into a big van with a few other people with my camera and some binoculars sold at a store I found. Then, we started driving...

The first part wasn't very exciting; all we saw was brownish yellow grass and some trees. Other than that, the whole plane was very plain.

It was a couple minutes into the tour before we saw any animals. However, the first animal we saw, an elephant, made up for it! The thing was huge! It was gray, had giant ears, and was really wrinkly. The elephant looked kind of funny, but also intimidating. I would never want to go against one.

Later on we saw some giraffes. I'd only ever seen pictures of giraffes before, so this was really cool. It looked like it was about fifteen and a half feet tall! It was yellow, with a lot of brown spots randomly covering its body.

Other than that, I saw fourteen baboons, five of which were babies, five hippos, twenty-three zebras, thirty-eight buffaloes, ten other giraffes, and four other elephants. Yes, I did count them all. I wanted to remember clearly what I saw!
After a very eventful day of eighty-six animals, I went to my new hotel, and went to bed.
