Normally, I would tell you about the great things I did today in this post. However, today was not normal, and calls for an un-normal post.
Here's what happened. This morning, I woke up and went downstairs for Chinese breakfast. I had my usual breakfast of "I'm-not-sure-what" and then I headed to the lobby to get my car keys. It was there that I saw the sign. The sign said that this hotel was being demolished so as to put up apartments.
Remember how I was telling you about all of the apartments in China? Well, now I've really experienced it. It said that the wrecking ball was coming at 1:00 and that all guests had to be gone by then. There was a note next to the sign that said that the hotel workers would be able to get knew jobs for the same salary and that everything was going to be okay, except the hotel itself, of course.
I went to the manager of the hotel to see what was going to happen. He said everything was perfectly fine and that I could trade in the ticket I had (which would take me home on Wednesday) for a ticket that could take me home today. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Two whole days of my China experience taken away from me like that! I haven't seen the Great Wall yet! I haven't cruised on the Huangpu river! I haven't gone to the Forest of Stalae Museum! I'm still stunned from what happened.
Well, I guess this is "Goodbye" China.... And on that happy note, I end this trip.
