Tuesday

Today, I went out to Nyungwe to see some monkeys. I had no idea how cool they could be! I think that there was one that kept following us, but I couldn't really be sure. They were really cute, and I wanted to cuddle one, but I was told that that would be very dangerous.

Most of the chimps were mainly black and white, but some were pretty far out. They had browns and yellows sometimes. Some also had spots. I'd never seen monkeys before, and I was very amazed at the fact that they really did use their feet as hands, for a lot of things. Also, their tails looked pretty useful for swinging from tree to tree.

One thing I didn't really like about the monkeys was the smell. I could smell them from a long way away, even with other smells all around me, like fresh water from a lake, and the smell of trees. However, even though the smell was bad, I would like to see them again.

They were in a national park, so I walked around for a while, taking in all the scenery. It was very beautiful, and I saw a lot of trees and other animals than the chimps. My favorite part was when I saw the waterfall! It fell down about thirty feet, into a natural pool. I just wanted to go swimming in it, but there were signs all around it saying not to go into the water.

So instead I kept walking. I don't think I'd ever been in a park that big before! I spent a few more hours just walking and looking and smelling, it was just so gorgeous and peaceful...

After seeing the waterfall and the monkeys, it was pretty late, so I went back to my hotel and fell asleep.
